Peru Municipality Grants Legal Rights to Stingless Bees in World First
The municipality of Satipo, in the central Amazonian region of Peru, has enacted a local law recognising the inherent rights of stingless bees to exist, thrive, and regenerate — the first time any insect anywhere in the world has received such legal protection. The measure, spearheaded by Amazon Res
